Monthly Membership Luncheon

Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:45 a.m.

(NOTE: This is the 3rd Thursday of February)

SPEAKER:  Bill Boyce, Esquire with First American National Title Insurance Company

TOPIC:  "Water Rights and Wrongs"

SUMMARY: By reviewing various types of water rights and nearby property ownership issues, this presentation will help to provide a better understanding of when and how an exception for a water matter must be inserted into a title insurance policy. Knowing the issues involved when insuring property above, under, next to, or near water will help a title agent avoid claims, such as a lack of access to the water and failure of title.

SPEAKER'S BIO:  William (Bill) Boyce, Esq. is Senior Underwriting Counsel and is located in Largo, Florida.  Prior to joining First American Title, Bill gained extensive Florida real property experience in private practice where he concentrated on commercial and residential real estate transactions, commercial loan documentation, litigation, foreclosures, and title insurance. His background also includes serving as the inaugural president of the Texas Legends and inaugural chief executive of the Westchester Knicks; two of the most successful teams in the National Basketball Association Development League. In recognition of his leadership and dedication, Bill received the 2013 NBA Development League Team Executive of the Year Award.
